Highway: Seasonal Employment - The Ancram Highway Department is seeking to hire part time summer employees to assist with maintaining lawns around Town Hall, Blass Field, Town Pool and the monuments and cemeteries the Town is responsible for. Lawn mowing, weed whacking, leaves, plus other duties as assigned by the Highway Superintendent. Current driver's license required. April 15 to November 1. Approximately 15 hours per week, on average, depending on weather. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Town Board: The Town Board of the Town of Ancram does hereby give notice that the Regular Town Board meetings will now be held on the Third Thursday of every month. Any changes will be published prior to the meeting.

Town of Ancram, NY

Construction began on new Ancram Town Hall in 2002, on land donated to the town by Doris and Hal Faber. The first meeting of the Town Board in the new Town Hall was in June 2003. The Town Hall houses the Town Supervisor, the Town Clerk, the Town Court, the Assessor’s office, the Planning Board and ZBA clerk’s office and the building and zoning enforcement department. The Town Hall also has a fire proof vault which was installed to protect Town records, and has office space for the County Deputy Sheriff who patrols the Ancram area. The Town highway superintendent has offices at the Town Barn, and the Ancram Fire Company maintains its offices at the fire house. The Town Hall has a large meeting room and a small conference room which are available to community groups for their use. Each Town department keeps it’s own hours, so check the page which details the office hours and contact information for the department you are interested in.
