Public Notice

Town Board: The Ancram Town Board will hold a public hearing on January 15, 2014 at 6.45 pm at the Ancram Town Hall, 1416 CR 7, Ancram NY 12502 to see public comment on a proposed revised subdivision law. This proposed local law contains two components. First are the Land Subdivision Regulations. The second component is Subdivision and Highway Construction Standards. The proposed local law 1) clarifies definitions for roads and driveways; 2) clarifies how to determine frontage; 3) adds boundary line adjustments as a classification; 4) clarifies when the classification clock starts; 5) emphasizes the Planning Baord's openness to communication with all applicants and the corresponding intent and nature of the sketch plan conference; 6) clarifies the coordination and conduct of site visits; 7) establishes road layout standards; and 8) provides format/heading changes to enable readers to more easily identify each section. The proposed local law also deletes some features that are outdated or otherwise don’t coincide with current practice, including passages about notifications, filing notices, and copy requirements. In addition, all procedures and time frames were brought into conformance with New York State Town Law. A copy of the proposed subdivision law is available from the Ancram Town Clerk, and is available on the Town web site at
