The “ MABEY UNIVERSAL “ bridge was originally approved by the County Board of Supervisors as a rental.  The County could not afford to pay the cost of a purchase to own. Senator Saland was made aware of the County’s need to use a temporary bridge at subsequent locations, and has funded the cost of the bridge purchase with a $150,000 donation. As of April 14th the bridge has been ordered.  As the photo shows work has already begun.  The bridge is made in England and will be transported by ship to the U.S. This will take about four weeks (already in route).  Once delivered to the work site it will take 7 to 8 days to install. The planned completion date is mid May.
